Adele Bio

Yoga, to me, is a practice of authenticity. It takes courage and devotion yet somewhere along the way we find freedom. Through dedication we carve out time to return the mind to a calmer, clear state that separates the self from the chaos. Our yoga practice becomes a foundation, a home that we return to each day. It serves us in deeply personal ways, as we evolve through life’s uncertainties. Physically the body becomes supple and strong. Mentally we find stability, develop concentration and transcendence. We experience a bridge between reality and spirituality.

I have been a yoga practitioner since 2014. I initially became a student of Mary Powell (Ashtanga Yoga Oxford) and later studied with Sandra Howling (John Scott Senior Teacher). My interest and passion for the traditional practice of Ashtanga Yoga has lead me to travel, and study with many inspiring senior ashtanga teachers. I adapted my practice throughout my second pregnancy, using it as a tool to support my mind and body throughout life’s continuous changes.

I completed my 200hr Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Primary Series (Yoga Chikitsa) Teacher Training, following the lineage of John Scott / Sri K. Pattabhi Jois after 2 years, and spent a further year training in the Intermediate Series (Nadi Shodhana). During this time I have supplemented my growth with courses in Sanskrit mantra recitation, philosophy and anatomy.

My weekly classes include an ashtanga mysore programme, and a range of guided group and private classes. Meeting students where they are at - from experienced to complete beginner, or working through injuries / personal and preexisting conditions - is where my passion lies.

Yoga is method that asks us to apply effort, focus, honesty and surrender.

It is my dharma to share the teachings authentically, with encouragement and reverence to lineage. I receive all students as individuals, who deserve guidance rooted in compassion, kindness and introspection.
