CPD for teachers of movement and physiotherapists

This one day CPD workshop is a must for yoga teachers and teachers in training who want to expand their functional anatomy knowledge in relation to yoga asana.

Embodied Anatomy: Deepening Functional Understanding in Yoga

This one-day CPD workshop is designed for yoga teachers and trainees who want to move beyond basic anatomy and develop a more embodied, nuanced understanding of the human body in motion.

In every yoga class, we see a rich variety of bodies, each with their own unique structures, stories, and capacities. So how do we support that diversity with skill and confidence? This experiential workshop brings anatomy to life—not through dry memorisation, but through direct experience, movement inquiry, and thoughtful discussion.

You’ll explore how concepts like proprioception(your sense of body position) and interoception(your internal felt sense) inform your own practice and your students’ self-awareness. We’ll also delve into the fascinating world of fascia and biotensegrity, looking at the body not as a machine of isolated parts, but as an interconnected, dynamic system.

With a strong emphasis on practical application, embodied learning, and inclusive teaching, this is a hands-on, thought-provoking day in a supportive, small-group setting.

You will:

  • Deepen your confidence in using anatomy to enhance your teaching.

  • Learn the language of body reading and how to recognise common skeletal variations.

  • Explore how postural patterns affect movement and practice.

  • Understand how fascia and biotensegrity shape the way bodies move and respond.

  • Investigate proprioception and interoception through somatic and mindful movement.

  • Develop inclusive, anatomy-informed approaches to cueing, adjusting, and sequencing.

  • Reflect on the language you use as a teacher and how to make your cueing more intelligent, accessible, and empowering.

Spaces are limited to allow for plenty of personal attention, hands-on exploration, and peer learning. Expect to move, observe, question, reflect—and come away with tools and information you can immediately apply in your classes.
