AFTER CARE
Ways to nurture yourself after a Cacao, Yin or sound Healing session.
1. Rest and slow down
Give yourself permission to take things gently. Avoid rushing straight back into a busy schedule if you can. Allow your body and mind to settle naturally.
2. Drink plenty of water
Sip water or a warm herbal tea to stay hydrated. Enjoy the simple act of drinking slowly and mindfully.
3. Eat nourishing food
Choose a gentle, nourishing meal when you feel hungry. Warm soups, cooked vegetables and wholesome foods can feel comforting after a restorative practice.
4. Spend time in nature
A gentle walk, sitting beneath a tree or simply feeling your feet on the earth can help you feel grounded and connected to the present moment.
5. Allow emotions to flow
You may notice emotions, memories or sensations arising after your practice. There is no need to analyse or change them. Meet yourself with kindness, and remember that you do not need to make sense of everything straight away.
6. Reduce stimulation
If possible, give yourself a little space away from screens, noise and demanding conversations. Quiet time can help you notice how you are feeling.
7. Journal or reflect
You might like to write down any sensations, thoughts, feelings or insights that arose during your practice. Equally, you may prefer to let the experience simply be.
8. Prioritise a restful evening
Choose gentle activities, a warm bath, comfortable clothing and an early night if that feels right. Allow your body to find its own rhythm.
A gentle reminder
After deep stretching or sound healing, you may feel especially relaxed or temporarily light-headed. Move slowly when getting up, and avoid driving until you feel fully alert. If you experience significant pain, persistent dizziness or distressing symptoms, seek appropriate medical advice rather than assuming they are part of the healing process.
A closing affirmation
I give myself permission to rest.
I honour whatever has arisen within me.
I do not need to rush, fix or understand everything.
I allow myself the space to integrate, soften and return gently to the present moment.
I am grounded. I am held. I am home within myself.
With love and care, allow the benefits of your practice to unfold in their own time.
