Yoga has deeply affected my life in so many ways, I do not know where I would be in life without it, the wonder it’s done and continually does to my mind, body, and spirit. Yoga keeps me grounded through the hard times, rejoices me in the good times, and heals me in the sad times.. My mat is a place I always belong. It is a time of stillness when I need calm; it is a place of energy when I need uplifting

As well as earlier training since 2009, Lisa has recently graduated 300hr IYTT @catherineannisyoga and has started to weave Scaravelli inspired yoga into her class’s!! A beautiful way to truly connect to mind and body.
The scaravelli approach focuses on “the intelligent heart” an innate sense of our natural patterns of movement to bring harmony & ease to the postures. Lisa, teaches this gentle yet powerful form of Hatha yoga which uses gravity & breath to release the spine & energise the body.

Lisa’s mindful flow classes use creative & thoughtful transitions moving at breathing pace. The mindful aspect comes from the way the student is guided to move with awareness of the breath & the sensations of the body. Lisa offers options within the practice to work at more depth or more ease, to add on or take away, meaning mindful flow practices are suitable for all levels of practice.

Yin Yoga incorporates the principles of traditional Chinese medicine theory, something that Lisa is particularly drawn to and has a keen interest in sharing. The passive, longer held postures of a yin practice activate the connective tissues of the body, opening restrictions physically & energetically. This encourages the tissues of the body to become more flexible & the energetic channels to open.

All of Lisa’s classes draw on her 15 years of teaching experience and can include all of her different trainings and styles. Her class’s are well planned with a weekly or termly theme, sometimes just intuitive, feeling the energy and adapting to suit individuals in class, one class might be dynamic and flowing, another slower, mindful or more alignment approached. My love of Mindful yin yoga often appears with longer held postures to open the energetic pathways. All of my class’s will include short meditations and breath awareness to help you feel and sense in to your bodies.

One of Vanda Scaravelli’s great gifts to our yoga practice was freedom.  She gave us permission to follow our own inner teacher, liberating yoga practice from the restriction of rules and traditions.  She encouraged students to understand that, ultimately, we are our own best teachers – all we have to do is listen deeply and increase our awareness.

Lisa’s current qualifications (800hr), recognised as a senior yoga teacher by Yoga Alliance Profiessionals from her years of teaching and trainings.

Becca

Teaches Dynamic Vinyasa Mondays 9.30am and offers occasional vinyasa workshops

Whilst expecting my third baby I began practicing pre natal yoga and found a connection to breath and bodywork that I had never experienced before. With small children to care for and a business to run I began to cultivate a regular home practice that I used as a tool to help with anxiety, stress and sleepless nights.

A few years later I completed my post natal, baby and children’s yoga training with senior teacher Sarah Swindlehurst and began teaching in my local community and schools. As my own practice developed I took the next step and trained with Michelle Nicklin at Sandstone Yoga in Birmingham, graduating from my 200 hour training in 2018. Since then I’ve also completed trainings in pregnancy yoga, Mandala vinyasa and advanced sequencing.
I regularly practice Dharma yoga, Mandala vinyasa and dynamic vinyasa. My practice and my own teachers heavily influence my teaching, my classes include pranayama (breath work) asana (physical practice) mantra, meditation and relaxation. It’s important to me that I teach the history and philosophy of the practice within my classes, including the 8 limbs of yoga. Expect to be challenged, have fun, find a sense of community and get to know yourself a bit better.

Whilst yoga is not a cure all it will always be something that stays with me, is there when I need it and shows me how to create space, recognise my emotions, challenge my physical body and help me show up for others the best way I can.

Adele

Teaches Inspired Ashtanga, Thursdays at Manor Farm Studio

I discovered yoga 8 years ago after the birth of her first son. I became a student of Mary Powell (Ashtanga Yoga Oxford) and began cultivating a daily practice under Mary’s guidance. My interest and passion for the traditional practice of Ashtanga Yoga has lead me to study with reputable teachers including Sharath Jois, Philippa Asher, Hamish Hendry, Eddie Stern and Digby Platt. I adapted my practice throughout my second pregnancy, using it as a tool to support my mind and body throughout life’s continuous changes. In 2019 I began studying with senior teacher Sandra Howling and, in 2020, completed my 200hr Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Primary Series (Yoga Chikitsa) Teacher Training, following the lineage of John Scott / Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

Adele remains fascinated by anatomy, yoga philosophy, physchology and the proven science behind the benefits. The power yoga has to change us physically, mentally and emotionally is amazing and it gives Adele immense joy to be able to share it, hoping to encourage and develop a regular practice in her students at a pace that suits them. She continues her studies into the intermediate series with Sandra.

Amanjit

Teaches Saturday Vinyasa flow 9.30am at Middleton Cheney

My yoga journey started 8 years ago, using it as a way to stay fit and although it has been incredibly rewarding for me physically, the real benefits I have discovered are beyond fitness and just how transformational a consistent practice can be for the mind and body.

My mat has now become a regular place for me to process and endure all of life’s joys and challenges, providing stability and peace in the most testing of times. I’ve found that the benefits from a regular practice extend way beyond the mat into daily life and I’m passionate about sharing this with others, wherever you are in your journey. Wanting to deepen my practice and understanding of yoga led me to embark on my 200-hour teacher training with my regular studio at the time, MoreYoga London, under the guidance of Senior RYT’s Luana Galoni and Erika Shapiro.

I strongly believe that yoga is for everyone, and my style of teaching is inclusive, energetic and fun. Whether it’s your first ever class, you’ve dipped in and out or you have a regular practice, I shape my classes for all abilities, encouraging movement and mindfulness and you can expect to leave feeling fulfilled, motivated and challenged.

When I’m not moving on my mat, I work as a Management Consultant in Health and Wellbeing and know too well the strain a demanding job can have on your mind and body and I use yoga to help me destress, stay mindful and build resilience.

Dawn

Teaches Saturday and Tuesdays Hatha courses at Fenny Compton

My yoga journey has been a long and winding road! From obsessively attending any class I could find to not attending classes for prolonged periods due to a very busy work life as an event manager.

The very first classes I attended were in a gym/leisure centre, I saw through the studio window and was curious, I joined and was hooked however it wasn’t the calm, serene, mindful space that hooked me it was the fact I was strong, bendy and had a bit of a competitive nature, I constantly raced to get to the pose, compromised my safety to achieve a pose and even worse couldn’t get out of the studio quick enough when it was time for relaxation!! I am not sure when the change came but thankfully it did, not in a blinding light but slowly and over time calm, quiet and mindfulness came to my practice.

In 2017 after many attempts, I committed to a BWY foundation course more for my own practice, no thoughts of becoming a teacher however as the months passed and my passion exploded, and I felt I really wanted to share the passion and the benefits so went directly on to the BWY 300-hour teacher training course.

I teach hatha style with kindness and compassion.

I’m really excited to join with Lisa’s team and be able to offer a regular class.

Currently one of our lovley cover teachers

I was so struck by the healing and transformational potential of yoga that I felt called to share it with others.  I have since completed a 3 year 500hr teaching diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga as well as numerous CPD courses relating to yoga for mental health; specifically, stress/overwhelm and sleep. I am also currently completing a further 550 hours of training as a professional yoga therapist accredited by the British Council of Yoga Therapy.

My approach to teaching is a mindful, embodied movement that is sensitive and gently challenging. I believe all the knowledge we need is held deep inside ourselves, and as we learn to trust the subtle messages of the body, we can reconnect to the deepest parts of our being, helping us to restore and/or maintain our health and well-being.
