I was talking to a friend recently, she used to practice yoga regularly and then through injuries was unable to practice for a year and wasn’t sure that she could get back into it? Does this sound familiar with you?
Sometimes we are so focused on our practice, then something happens and you lose the momentum and find it difficult to get back into the routine. You just need to take that first step and get back into your practice and start a new routine, start slowly and go back to basics, attend a beginner’s class again to remind yourself about the breathing and movement within a flow.
By working on your basic poses, you can then slowly regain the strength in both your core and arms to progress, with correct breathing the stretching will come back and your body will start to respond again. Be patient with yourselves, it will not happen overnight but over a couple of months you will soon be back into the rhythm of your practice and be pleased you took that first step again. Yoga is a way of life and doesn’t mind if you miss a few practices it will always open Its arms to you when you are ready to start again.
