You know how it is, you have been rushing around all day, you rush into your yoga practice with 5 minutes to spare. Then the practice begins with your yoga teacher asking you to set your intentions for the practice, be mindful and let us start with the breathing…… familiar.
So there you are trying to be mindful, but in reality you are mind full with thoughts rushing around, groceries that need collecting, picking the kids up from some after school activity, plus the 101 other things that are whooshing through your mind. In an age when we are totally mind full it is difficult to switch off.
So before your next practice start trying to be mindful as soon as you walk through the door, start taking in some deep breaths, put your thoughts in a box to come back to later, think about your breathing and slowly your mind will start to release. It is important in these busy times to take time out, forget the to do list, just focus on your breathing and be mindful not mind full.
