British Asparagus it is in the shops and on the market stalls, in my opinion it is one of the most perfect foods. It needs absolutely nothing added to it. This wonderful vegetable is rich in Vitamin A and C, Folic Acid plus Potassium it is just fabulous.
What can I say, I love asparagus in everything, salads, soups, with hummus, dipped into a boiled egg, served with poach egg, steamed, on the BBQ. Just add a sprinkling of olive oil and sea salt or a squeeze of lemon juice, or maybe add a little parmesan grated over the top…. Ummmmm……. Heaven.
Not only is this sexy superfood rich in vitamins and minerals it also stimulates the kidney and is a mild laxative with no fat, no cholesterol and low in sodium.Plus did I mention low in calories…… fill that plate up.
