Mindfulness is a term that we have come to say a lot over the past couple of years it’s the ‘in word’ to get in touch with your feelings, your thoughts without judging them. Powerful thinking, mindfulness, positive thinking, all bring the same benefits.
By being mindful when we wake up in the morning we can set the day, it can boost our satisfaction with life, with how we will go through the day, it can lower stress and help us stay focused on our goals, our choices and make selected choices throughout our day.
When we practice yoga, we aim to stay in the present and be mindful with our meditation and breathing, we focus on our breathing, paying attention to how our chest and body rise and fall. By practicing yoga on a regular basis, we begin to live in the moment more, in both mind and body.
“Mindfulness is a way of befriending ourselves and our experience” – Jon Kabat-Zinn
