I don’t think we generally think about our posture on a day to day basis, we get into bad habits, maybe slouching over our desks, rounding our shoulders, looking at the pavement when we walk. When we walk into our yoga class instantly we stand tall, relax our shoulders and place our feet firmly on the ground, suddenly we are thinking about our posture.
Yoga exercise helps improve your posture and can even reverse age-related posture. From a relaxing chest opening sequence to using our core muscles this all helps with restoring a strong core posture. Back strengthening moves improve the muscles in our back which then help us stay strong and stand tall. If we have good posture it will help prevent backache, decrease the wearing of joint surfaces, prevents fatigue as muscles are more effective.
