When we think of yoga we think of strong muscles, flexibility, meditation, but, did you know it is also good for our brains……
When we do poses like downward dog it relaxes and de-stresses us, but it also actually increases our brain function. After a yoga session it can improve our focus and help us retain information.
Next time you have an afternoon slump don’t reach for the energy drink, the coffee or chocolate, take out your mat and do a 20 minute sequence including downward dogs.
“The brain is like a muscle. When it is in use we feel very good. Understanding is joyous”
